What changed in 2026
- The threshold is €51,130 — in euro after Bulgaria adopted the euro.
- It is measured per calendar year, not over the last 12 months. Turnover should be monitored daily.
- 7 days from crossing it to apply — no more waiting for the month to end.
- Registration applies from the day after the threshold is exceeded, not from the date of the NRA's decision.
- A broader definition of turnover — including financial, insurance and some real-estate supplies.
How the checker works
The checker compares your turnover from 1 January to the chosen date with the €51,130 threshold and works out your average daily pace. If that pace continues, it shows roughly when you'll reach the threshold. For seasonal businesses or a single large deal the forecast may differ — so check again after every larger invoice.
One large invoice can oblige you to register within a week. If you are close to the threshold, contact us before the deal.
